PVC
The material from which transparent packaging was born.
PVC is the acronym for polyvinyl chloride resin, transparent packaging was born from this material in the 70’s. Ten years ago it represented 95% of the material used by Cristina, today it has been replaced by PET, and represents a mere 25% because of its high environmental impact.
General characteristics
It is the most tested material and technically it is the easiest material to process, very flexible, pliable, not very expensive but not ecologic, and it only exists in its virgin, unrecycled grade. It practically has no technical restrictions but its opalescence gives a final aesthetic look that falls short of that of PET, which boasts a better transparency and brightness. Cristina buys the PVC in sheets, according to job orders, a procedure which allows each job to have its appropriate material, in the precise quantity and size.
