Cristina and the environment
Always looking for materials with a low environmental impact.
It might be because of our location facing the Varese lake at the foot of the Alps, but our attention is always aimed at the environment.
In a physical sense, our windows were intentionally built low to allow a view on the surrounding green. In an aspiring sense, our research concentrates on materials with an excellent aesthetic look and with the least possible environmental impact. We are particularly proud of the results we have obtained with R-PET, recycled by as much as 85%: seeing the volumes we have produced with this material, our suppliers have equipped themselves to produce it. Not to contradict the company spirit that sees every goal reached as a starting point, Cristina is thinking of taking a further step forward by installing a system to grind production scrap, to make it easier to convey the plastic material in the recycling circuit.
Another area of excitement is the research we are carrying out on samples of PLA, a biodegradable compound produced with corn starch. We are running in-house tests to overcome the problems related to the approach and the processing of this material, so as to be able to safely offer it to our customers as soon as it shall be available on the market.
