Gluing and packing
From solvent to hotmelt glue, going through innovative injection systems.
We were among the first to discover and use hotmelt glue on A-PET. A goal that is worth all the years passed in researching and experimenting the glue’s potentials.
For years we have glued PVC using solvents which melt the two surfaces so that they stick together. Then with the introduction of a new material called A-PET, which cannot be glued with the traditional systems, we were faced with a new problem. But Cristina’s philosophy is that technical limitations are made to be overcome: thus the start of an intense period of turmoil and experimentation that led us to the discovery of a new type of glue – hotmelt - perfectly transparent and which leaves no marks or smears. To better apply it we have designed a sophisticated injection system installed on the machine which spreads, through a gun, a very precise strip of glue or, for cartons with an automatic bottom, even more strips simultaneously. The machine also carries-out the pre-breaking of the crease so as to facilitate even more the job of the automatic packing machine.
Gluing is the final operation and, under certain aspects, the most critical of the entire process, because the products are worked singularly and, in lack of due care, the material’s delicate surface could get irreparably scratched. It is precisely here that all the experience and care of Cristina’s personnel play an important role, and make it possible to package products aesthetically unblemished by scratches, in line with the strictest requirements of the quality specifications of the top quality cosmetics industry. Any microscopic smear is eliminated by hand by the employees themselves who, wearing white gloves, go through the packaging to check it. Packing operation then concludes our products’ course by executing the rigid technical specifications drawn up by us to guarantee the material’s integrity up to delivery to the customer’s warehouse.
